A.V.

Digital Media Services (DMS) is part of the IMSS group and consists of three components: Audio Visual Services, the Digital Media Center, and the NewMedia Classroom.

DMS works to support, promote, and enable the use of digital media and interactive technologies at the Institute and to help the campus community exploit these rapidly evolving tools, practices, and technologies wherever they might be of benefit.
It does this in a number of ways:
by providing campus-wide access to a highly skilled staff,
professional-level services, and cutting-edge tools and facilities;
by keeping abreast of important trends and developments connected with digital media tools,
technologies, and practices and by helping explore and assess their potential value to the
Institute;
by serving as a frequent and collaborative partner with various administrative, instructional, and
research groups involving a wide range of NewMedia-related projects and initiatives;
and by operating a diverse program of digital media classes, workshops, and demonstration
sessions in our NewMedia Workshop facility

AUDIO VISUAL SERVICES
Established in 1967, Audio Visual Services (A.V.S.) supports faculty, students, and staff with audio-visual equipment and professional services for classroom activities, lectures, seminars, video production, video conferencing, and special projects. AVS also offers equipment and systems consultation services to departments or individuals interested in purchasing equipment. AVS is the primary campus resource for professionally produced, archival-quality recordings of historical and other high-value material. AVS is also a key resource for preparing and enhancing such material for delivery on the web.

DIGITAL MEDIA CENTER
Established in 1994, the Digital Media Center (DMC) provides a campus-wide resource for the exploration, creation, and utilization of digital media and interactive technologies and for their integration into the fabric of teaching, research, and Institute communications — both internal and external. The DMC is a combination consulting center, self-serve multimedia studio, digital production facility, and technology showcase. The DMC works extensively with researchers.

NEWMEDIA CLASSROOM
The NewMedia Classroom is a high-tech facility capable of recording lectures and conferences with interactive capabilities.
